4 Ideas To Upgrade Your Personal Space During Quarantine
Are you tired of staring at the same old space while you wait for the world to go back to normal? Is the room that used to be your refuge from the insanity of the world starting to drive you crazy? I think most of us would answer yes to these two questions right about now.
Unfortunately, there is not much we can do about the first issue. Wash our hands and practicing social distancing will hopefully get us back to normal someday, but it seems like that day is not nearly as close as we all wish it was.
The good news though is that we can totally kick the second problems' ass! Even better, the things we can do remove that problem will give us something to break up some of the mind-numbing boredom!
So without further ado here are 4 ideas to upgrade your personal space during quarantine:
- Rearrange: This one might seem obvious, but nothing changes the mood of a room like a complete renovation. I'm sure some of you have even done this already. Here's my advice though — DO IT AGAIN! My daughter has rearranged her entire room at least 4 times since quarantine began and she'll probably do it at least 4 more before it's over.
- Get Glowing: This is a throwback to my college days. Back then we used to paint designs on the walls and ceilings in our dorms with bleach. When you turned a blacklight on the designs would glow. I'm pretty sure that's not great for the walls, but fortunately, the world has come a long way since then and the internet can show you plenty of better ways to do it. You can find some great glow in the dark paint ideas in this wikiHow article.
- Deck the Walls (and Ceiling): There are plenty of ways to liven up the walls in your room. If you are the artistic type then start drawing. Now is the perfect time to get all those great ideas out of your head, down on paper, and up on your walls!
- Spend (a Little) Cash: There are plenty of cool new ways to decorate your personal space nowadays and if you know where to look (Hint: right here) they don't have to break the bank. LED light strips are a great way to completely change up the space you spend so much time in. A new wall tapestry goes up in no time. Large wall and door stickers transform your space with minimum effort and maximum results.
Summing up, it's a hard time for all of us right now. I know from what I've seen my daughter going through that it is particularly hard for teenagers. You are used to being active and hanging out with friends and I feel truly terrible that you are all missing out on that right now. Don't let it break you though. Just learn to look at the situation a little differently and we will be back to normal before you know it!
